About Twitch and the Witch
Hello Twitchlings!
I'm so excited you are here! Let me start by introducing myself.
I am Christine Bull, the creator of Twitch and the Witch and I am just a tad daft.
I don't take life too seriously and get bored quickly with people who owlways moan and complain. I owlso love to make up words, especially ones that have 'owl' in them!
I have always been passionate about animals and nature and grew up with dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, an African Grey parrot, lovebirds and an assortment of rescued birds - including a little owl with one wing, that we called Twitch!
I adore horses and spent every weekend mucking out poop, just to earn a free ride, at the local stables. I loved riding through the woods and spending time out in nature.
I was also a water baby and would happily spend all day in the swimming pool. Even now, my favourite places olways include trees and water.
I live in the South West of England, in the beautiful county of Somerset. I am a mum and for the last 30 years, a musician and teacher. I play viola, violin and piano, as well as having a go at things like the hand pan and harp. I also play a mean shaky egg!! I currently play with the Bristol String Quartet, at weddings and other functions and freelance for shows and local orchestras.
I am also a Witch, in the traditional sense of the word - someone who lives in harmony with the seasons, the moon and the environment and sees magic all around, even in the smallest of things. Life really is beautiful when you appreciate the world we are part of. I am also learning about shamanism and other cultures ways of working with the elements to promote healing.
This picture shows my shaman staff, that I made using a linden branch, that was gifted to me, by a Shaman friend.
Then we come to Twitch and the Witch. Initially it started off with a children's book that I wrote. I love writing rhymes and saw myself as the next Julia Donaldson! The main point was to educate children to connect with nature and learn about traditional healing methods, such essential oils, crystals, herbs, meditation and sound. If you have followed Twitch and the Witch on social media, you will know how much it has changed since the journey first began back in 2020. I have also been (and still am) on an incredible journey of self discovery and healing.
Fast forward to present day and I have decided that I no longer wish to write for children. I have had 30 years of having to filter what I say and always being polite, and whilst I have no intention of turning into a rude, foul mouthed lout, I do feel , that as I enter my crone years, I should have some time, in this lifetime, where I can speak my truth and my mind, 100%. I still have a passion for the written word, however, so will continue to share books that I love, while I write my own books.
So, where does that leave Twitch and the Witch? Along this journey I have discovered that there are many people in desperate need of more silliness in their lives! It also amazes me when I get chatting to people and they have never meditated before or they say they are feeling tired and I whip out my bottle of peppermint oil and they are flabbergasted at how one whiff can make them feel energised again. Hopefully I can help share a little magic and show people how to trust their intuition and that they can help heal themselves and the world around them.
Hopefully you will find my cheerful outlook infectious and laugh with me, as I believe laughter is one of the best forms of medicine. Oh, and I also love hats and crazy hair colour!
My mission is to encourage people to Connect with Nature, to demonstrate that you can Create your own Magic and that you can Trust your Intuition, if you just BELIEVE.
